Care & Maintenance

We want your new custom wrap to last for many years to come. Here, we will discuss how to care for your new wrap and provide tips on how you can take precautions when cleaning your vehicle with vinyl wrap.

Polishing Car

We all love the convenience of automatic car washes, however with vinyl wraps, the brushes can damage the surface and peel the edges that are tucked underneath. The best way you can maintain the life of your wrap is to hand-wash your car. Vinyl Wrap is NOT paint, so it is imperative to take proper care to avoid degradation, fading, and peeling.

What products should I use to wash my vehicle wrap?

We recommend 3M® Car Wash Soap 39000, or Meguiar’s NXT Generation® Car Wash or Deep Crystal® Car Wash and follow up with 3M Quick Detailer Spray Wax, Meguiar’s Ultimate Quik Wax, or Chemical Guys Synthetic Quick Detailer Extreme Thick Polymer Detailer. Be sure to use an automotive sponge or other soft cloth to wash your wrap.

Can I pressure wash my vehicle wrap?

If you decide to pressure wash your vehicle, be sure to keep it at the lowest setting (below 2,000 psi). Using a higher setting can cause damage the wrap or cause lifting at the corners and edges.

How do I conquer difficult stains such as tree sap and bugs?

For difficult stains, tend to them as soon as you notice them. If they sit for too long, they can damage the wrap and be harder to remove. Soak the area with warm, soapy water to loosen them. Rinse the area completely and dry. For more stubborn stains, we recommend Meguiar’s Gold Class™ Bug and Stain Remover. Do not use solvents or oil based products.

Will keeping my car in the sun damage the wrap?

Keeping your wrapped vehicle in the sun or exposed to other elements for prolonged periods of time can cause your wrap to degrade on the hood, roof, and tailgate. We recommend parking your vehicle in a garage or under a canopy to prevent damage and fading. If these are not an option, shady areas are best to protect your wrap from the elements.

What should I do if my wrap is turning brown?

If your wrap is turning brown or a rusty color, it is due to exposure to air pollutants. This is also typically a result of neglect and not taking the aforementioned precautions to maintain the life of your wrapped vehicle. It is best to replace the wrap in the affected areas and reapply a fresh wrap.

Kaleb's Customs will not be held responsible for any neglect on the customer's behalf.
